Police in Ajman, the capital of the Emirate of Ajman in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has become the first law enforcement agency across the globe to offer services to residents of the fifth largest city of the country through Metaverse technology, according to a tweet by officials which was reported by local news agency Khaleej Times on Sunday, Oct. 16.
The latest milestone by Ajman Police came during the Gitex Technology Week. GITEX GLOBAL unifies the world’s most influential ecosystems advancing business, economy, society, and culture through the sheer power of innovation.
During the week, Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Abdullah Abu Shehab of the Ajman Police and the entire unit launched the “Request for Sponsorship” service. This is a new smart service that will grant residents of the city the chance to communicate with the police remotely. What this means is that people in the city of Ajman can have a virtual experience of having contact with several representatives of the department.
Colonel Mohammed Abdullah Abu Shehab was a key figure at the Dubai Metaverse Forum and made it known that Ajman Police Force participated in the event with the primary aim of benefiting from how Metaverse technology can help law enforcement agencies.
On the second day of Gitex Global 2022, Dubai Police also launched a new version of its smart application. This included a premium bunch of 70 developed services using the latest programming languages, techniques, and artificial languages. The latest smart application supports Spanish, Chinese, French, German, Russian, and Arabic.

The largest Metaverse market in North America will be in the United States, Canada, and Mexico while Germany, France, and the United Kingdom will dominate Europe. China, Japan, and India will control the Asia Pacific market while the rest will be split between countries in the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America.
Due to the growth and potential of the Metaverse market, companies such as Microsoft, Nike, NVIDIA, Adidas, Apple, Google, Meta, Binance, Epic Games, Unity, Snapshot, The Sandbox, Amazon, Valve, Roblox Corporation, and Animoca Brands have put in place the necessary measures to enter the sector.
